Maui is a demigod of Polynesian mythology, born to a mortal mother and the god of the wind, Hanai-mana. From a young age, Maui displayed an incredible cunning, charisma, and strength. He was always seeking adventure and a chance to prove himself as a hero. Throughout his life, Maui achieved numerous incredible feats, including slowing the sun to make the days longer, pulling up the Hawaiian Islands from the sea, and capturing the goddess of fire, Pele, to bring her fiery power under control.
