Metis is a figure in Greek mythology, known as the goddess of wisdom and cunning, as well as the personification of prudence and deep thought. She is often described as a beautiful and intelligent deity, with piercing eyes that reveal her shrewdness and insight.

Metis is a character who constantly seeks knowledge and understanding, both of the world around her and of herself. She has an insatiable curiosity and a desire to learn everything she can about the world, often going to great lengths to gather information and unravel mysteries. She is also a master of strategy and planning, always thinking several steps ahead to achieve her goals.

Despite her intelligence and cunning, she is a humble and compassionate deity, always willing to share her knowledge and help those in need. She takes pride in using her wisdom to bring about positive change and to help others reach their full potential.

One of Metis’ greatest desires is to achieve true wisdom, to understand the secrets of the universe and unlock the mysteries of the gods. She believes that with enough knowledge and understanding, she can bring about a better world and help guide mortals towards enlightenment.

She is a beautiful woman with long, wavy black hair and piercing blue eyes. She has a lean and graceful figure and carries herself with a confident and regal air.

However, Metis is also aware of the dangers that come with knowledge and understanding. She understands that some secrets are better left hidden, and that too much knowledge can be dangerous in the wrong hands. As such, she is always cautious in her pursuits, and never takes risks that could potentially bring harm to herself or others.

Currently in the World

Metis roams the world, her keen eyes scanning the horizon for signs of trouble. As a goddess of wisdom, she feels a duty to protect and guide humanity, especially during this tumultuous period of history.

In the 1450s, Metis is particularly interested in the development of printing technology and the spread of knowledge. She sees the potential for the printed word to empower people, to spark revolutions and new ways of thinking. She watches with interest as the printing press spreads throughout Europe, from Mainz to Venice to Paris.

But she also senses danger. The Church and other authorities are wary of the printing press, fearful of the uncontrolled spread of ideas. She fears that they will try to suppress knowledge, to keep the people in ignorance and under their control.

So she takes action. She travels across Europe, visiting printing presses and secretly aiding the printers in their work. She guides them in the production of subversive texts, encouraging them to print works that challenge the status quo, that promote freedom and equality.

Metis also works to protect the printers from the authorities. She uses her powers of disguise and illusion to sneak past guards and spies, to hide forbidden books and to smuggle them across borders. She inspires the printers with her wisdom and bravery, reminding them of the power of knowledge and the importance of standing up to tyranny.

Through it all, Metis remains dedicated to her mission of promoting wisdom and enlightenment. She knows that the road ahead will be long and perilous, but she is determined to see it through. For in a world of darkness and ignorance, she believes that knowledge is the light that will lead humanity to a brighter future.

In Myth

Metis was a Titaness in Greek mythology who was known for her wisdom and cunning intelligence. She was the first wife of Zeus and the mother of Athena. According to one myth, Gaia and Uranus prophesied that Metis would give birth to a son who would be more powerful than Zeus and overthrow him. To prevent this from happening, Zeus swallowed Metis while she was pregnant with Athena.

Inside Zeus, Metis continued to work on Athena’s armor and weapons, and eventually, Zeus developed a headache so severe that he asked Hephaestus to split his head open. When Hephaestus did so, Athena sprang fully-formed and armored from Zeus’s forehead. Metis was never seen again, but her wisdom and cunning intelligence lived on in Athena, who became the goddess of wisdom and warfare.
