Dinosaur, Torvosaurus, The Blade-Toothed Tyrant
Torvosaurus: The Jurassic jungle’s unstoppable killing machine that crushes everything in its path!
Torvosaurus is a towering predator with a heavily muscled frame, thick scaly skin, and powerful limbs. Its massive skull houses rows of serrated, blade-like teeth designed for slicing through flesh and bone. Standing nearly 30 feet long, its clawed forearms and massive jaws make it a fearsome sight on any prehistoric battlefield.
Behaviour:
Torvosaurus is a relentless hunter, driven by hunger and instinct. It stalks prey with patience, using bursts of speed to ambush and overpower targets. While primarily solitary, it can show territorial aggression towards rivals and intruders. Its intelligence leans toward cunning predatory tactics rather than pack coordination.
Habitat:
This dinosaur favors dense forests and river valleys of the Late Jurassic, where it can use cover to hunt effectively. It often follows herds of large herbivores, patiently waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Modus Operandi:
Torvosaurus employs a mix of brute force and ambush tactics. It uses its powerful jaws to deliver devastating bites and its strong forearms to slash and grip prey. Its thick hide and aggressive nature allow it to engage even the largest herbivores with confidence.
Motivation:
Survival and dominance drive Torvosaurus. It hunts relentlessly to sustain itself and defend its territory, ensuring no challenger threatens its reign as apex predator.

Traits
- Keen Smell. It has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
- Predatory Stealth. Torvosaurus can attempt to hide even in lightly obscured terrain, thanks to its dappled skin and low stalking gait.
- Relentless Pursuit. When the Torvosaurus reduces a creature to 0 HP, it can move up to half its speed as a reaction, without provoking opportunity attacks.
Actions
Multiattack.
It makes two attacks: one with its Bite, and one with its Claw.
Bite.
Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit: 32 (4d10 + 6) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Claw.
Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: 21 (3d8 + 6) slashing damage.
Serrated Rend (Recharge 5–6).
Torvosaurus makes a special attack against a creature it has hit with both its bite and claw this turn.
Hit: The target takes an additional 28 (8d6) slashing damage and must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or begin bleeding. While bleeding, the target takes 7 (2d6) damage at the start of each of its turns. A creature can use an action to make a DC 14 Medicine check to stop the bleeding.
Bonus Actions
Ferocious Roar (1/Day).
The Torvosaurus unleashes a terrifying roar. Each creature of its choice within 60 feet that can hear it must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
Tactics
The Torvosaurus is a patient stalker and brutal ambush predator. It prefers to use stealth to close the distance and strike isolated prey. In combat, it targets the weakest or most vulnerable creature first, attempting to knock it prone and tear it apart with Serrated Rend. It uses Ferocious Roar when outnumbered or when facing organized resistance, trying to scatter foes and pick them off one by one. If a creature drops, it immediately surges forward using Relentless Pursuit to continue its rampage.

Torvosaurus live in savannas near floodplains, where they sometimes terrorize communities of farmers and herders.

Combat
A torvosaurus preys upon just about everything that moves. It strategy is to charge in and bite. When attacking a smaller creature, the torvosaurus grabs it and thrashes it about until it dies.
Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a torvosaurus must hit an opponent of up to one size smaller with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and begins to worry the
opponent the following round.
Worry (Ex): When a torvosaurus grabs hold of a smaller creature with its Improved Grab ability, it thrashes it back and forth. A torvosaurus deals bite damage each round it maintains a grapple with an opponent until the opponent escapes or dies, or until the torvosaurus is killed.
Skills: A torvosaurus has a +2 racial bonus on Listen and Spot checks.
