(Dinosaur) Segnosaurus

This bizarre dinosaur resembles a strange melding of bird and giant sloth. Atop its long neck sits a tiny, beaked head. Its long arms end in three-fingered hands with scythe-like claws, which are longer and sharper than those of many larger carnivores. Its whole body, save for its head and legs, is covered in a coat of messy maroon feathers.
Segnosaurus is one of the therizinosaurs, a group of strange, long-necked, herbivorous theropods with long, scythe-like claws. Theropods are often called the meat-eating dinosaurs, so, ironically, the segnosaurus and its cousins are plant-eating dinosaurs. Segnosaurus’ name means ‘slow lizard,’ which is quite appropriate given its sloth-like lifestyle. It mainly uses its claws to grasp and pull down tree branches, but they are also quite effective as defensive weapons.
A segnosaurus is about 23 feet long and weighs several tons.
