That is until a witch (no other class) attempts to ride it. The broom then takes off in any random direction at top speed as per a broom of flying. The only way to stop it is to cast a remove curse. If the witch riding attempts to cast she is under normal restrictions to cast while mounted plus an extra -2 to cast.
