Svafrlami is the son of Sigrlami, who was the son of Odin, the king of Gardariki. He is best known for being the first owner of the magic sword Tyrfing, a powerful weapon said to be cursed. Svafrlami inherited the sword from his father, but it brought him nothing but trouble.

Despite his royal bloodline and the power of Tyrfing, Svafrlami was not content with ruling Gardariki. He was a restless and ambitious warrior, always seeking new conquests and challenges. He traveled far and wide, battling giants, dragons, and other mythical creatures.

However, his obsession with power and conquest led to his downfall. He fell in love with a woman named Arngrim, who was the daughter of a powerful giant. Despite her father’s objections, Svafrlami abducted Arngrim and took her as his wife. In retaliation, Arngrim’s father sent a fierce berserker named Angantyr to kill Svafrlami.

In the ensuing battle, Svafrlami was mortally wounded, but he managed to kill Angantyr with Tyrfing. As he lay dying, Svafrlami cursed the sword, knowing that it would bring only misery to its future owners. His last words were a warning to anyone who dared to wield the cursed blade.

Physically, Svafrlami was a tall, muscular man with long blond hair and a full beard. He had piercing blue eyes and a scar above his left eyebrow. He wore a fur cloak over a leather tunic and trousers, and carried a large, ornate sword at his side. He was known for his exceptional strength and skill in battle, as well as his cunning and ambition. Despite his flaws, he remains a legendary figure in Norse mythology, revered for his bravery and his tragic fate.

Tyrfing. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8+5) magical piercing damage.

Shield Bash. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 8 (1d4+4) bludgeoning damage and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Fear Aura (1/day). As an action, Svafrlami can unleash an aura of fear, forcing all creatures within 30 feet to make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

Parry. He can use his reaction to add 3 to his AC against one melee attack that would hit him. To do so, Svafrlami must see the attacker and be wielding a melee weapon.

Description:

Svafrlami is a tall and muscular human, with a rough appearance and short, dark hair. He wears chain mail armor and carries a shield, and his longsword Tyrfing is always at his side. He is a fearless warrior, ruthless and relentless in battle, with a deep love of combat and the thrill of victory. He is also a cunning strategist, always looking for ways to gain the upper hand over his enemies. Svafrlami’s ultimate goal is to conquer all of Gardariki and become its undisputed ruler, and he will stop at nothing to achieve this.

Notes:

This stat block is based on the mythological Svafrlami and his legendary sword Tyrfing. In the mythology, Tyrfing is said to be able to cut through anything, but it will eventually cause the death of its wielder. To reflect this, I have given Tyrfing a powerful magical ability, but also a drawback that it must draw blood once drawn. The Fear Aura ability is also based on the myth, as Svafrlami was said to be a terrifying and fearsome warrior. Overall, this stat block should make for a challenging encounter for a group of adventurers, with Svafrlami’s powerful attacks and abilities making him a formidable opponent.
