Dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Sovereign of the Bonecrush Jungle
The ultimate prehistoric apex predator with jaws that crush bones and a roar that shakes the earth—meet the unstoppable Tyrannosaurus rex!
The Tyrannosaurus rex is a towering colossus, measuring up to 40 feet in length with a massive skull and powerful jaws lined with thick, serrated teeth capable of crushing bone. Its muscular hind legs support its immense bulk, while its famously small, yet robust, forelimbs end in two clawed digits. Its thick, scaly hide ranges from mottled earth tones to dark greens, helping it blend into dense forests and plains.
Behaviour
T. rex is a solitary and territorial predator, often reigning as the apex hunter in its domain. It is patient and methodical, capable of sudden bursts of incredible speed when closing in on prey. Though primarily a hunter, it will not hesitate to scavenge carcasses when the opportunity arises. T. rex uses a combination of intimidation—through deep roars and displays—and brute force to dominate rivals and prey alike.
Habitat
T. rex prowls dense forests, river valleys, and coastal plains where large herbivorous dinosaurs roam. It prefers regions rich with prey and adequate cover for ambush hunting.
Modus Operandi
T. rex stalks its prey silently, using its keen vision and acute sense of smell. When ready to attack, it lunges with powerful strides and delivers devastating bites aimed to immobilize or kill swiftly. It uses its massive tail for balance and can deliver strong sweeping blows in close combat. When threatened or challenged, T. rex relies on its overwhelming size and terrifying presence to intimidate opponents.
Motivation
Driven primarily by hunger and survival, the Tyrannosaurus rex fiercely defends its territory and hunts to sustain its massive energy needs. It seeks to dominate the ecosystem as the apex predator, competing only when necessary for resources or mates.

Traits
Keen Smell.
The Tyrannosaurus rex has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Powerful Build.
The Tyrannosaurus counts as one size larger when determining its carrying capacity and the weight it can push, drag, or lift.
Trampling Charge.
If the Tyrannosaurus moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a bite attack on the same turn, the target must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the Tyrannosaurus can make one tail attack against it as a bonus action.
Actions
Multiattack.
The Tyrannosaurus makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail.
Bite.
Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit: 33 (4d12 + 7) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 18). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the Tyrannosaurus can’t bite another target.
Tail.
Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target.
Hit: 20 (3d8 + 7) bludgeoning damage.
Tactics
- The Tyrannosaurus begins combat by stalking or ambushing prey, relying on its Keen Smell to detect hidden or fleeing targets.
- It uses Trampling Charge to knock down foes, following up with its powerful Bite to restrain a target.
- If the target is restrained, the Tyrannosaurus may use its Tail attack to batter other nearby enemies.
- It is patient but relentless, preferring to isolate and incapacitate a single prey before moving on.
Environment
Dense forests, river valleys, and coastal plains teeming with large herbivores.
Treasure
Rarely leaves remains, but its massive bones and teeth are prized trophies and can be fashioned into formidable weapons or armor by primitive cultures.

This ravenous creature is the most fearsome of all carnivorous dinosaurs. It eats almost anything it can sink its teeth into and spends a great deal of its time scavenging for carrion and chasing smaller carnivores away from their kills.
Despite its enormous size and 6-ton weight, a tyrannosaurus is a swift runner. Its head is nearly 6 feet long, and its teeth are from 3 to 6 inches in length. It is slightly more than 30 feet long from nose to tail.

Combat
A tyrannosaurus pursues and eats just about anything it sees. Its tactics are simple’-“charge in and bite”
Improved Grab (Ex) : To use this ability, a tyrannosaurus must hit an opponent of up to one size smaller with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can try to swallow the foe the following round.
Swallow Whole (Ex) : A tyrannosaurus can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of up to two sizes smaller by making a successful grapple check. The swallowed creature takes 2d8+8 points of bludgeoning damage and 8 points of acid damage per round from the tyrannosaurus’s gizzard. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using a light slashing or piercing weapon to deal 25 points of damage to the gizzard (AC 12). Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out.
A Huge tyrannosaurus’s gizzard can hold 2 Medium, 8 Small, 32 Tiny, or 128 Diminutive or smaller opponents.
