Traits
- Shadow Step (Recharge 5–6). As a bonus action, Hanzo can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space he can see that is in dim light or darkness.
- Uncanny Dodge. When an attacker that Hanzo can see hits him with an attack, he can use his reaction to halve the attack’s damage.
- Evasion. When subjected to an effect that allows a Dexterity saving throw for half damage, Hanzo takes no damage on a successful save, and half on a failure.
- Ninja’s Guile. Hanzo has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks and saving throws against being grappled or restrained.
- Legendary Samurai Master. Hanzo has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Reactions
- Counterstrike. When a creature misses Hanzo with a melee attack, Hanzo can make one melee weapon attack with his katana against that creature.
Lair Actions (If fighting in his stronghold)
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Hanzo can take one of the following lair actions:
- Veil of Shadows. Dim light and magical darkness spread in a 30-foot radius centered on Hanzo, heavily obscuring the area for 1 minute or until dispersed.
- Silent Step. Hanzo and up to three allies gain invisibility for 1 round or until they attack or cast a spell.
- Shadow Trap. Hanzo conjures spectral chains from the shadows. One creature in the lair must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or be restrained until the end of their next turn.
Tactics
Hanzo prefers to strike from the shadows, using hit-and-run tactics and mobility. He teleports to avoid damage, then targets spellcasters or key foes with precise katana strikes enhanced by radiant power. He uses Shadow Flurry to harry multiple foes before fading away again. His Crimson Scarf and armor help him shrug off control effects, while his Counterstrike punishes reckless enemies. In his lair, he controls the battlefield with darkness and restraints, wearing down foes before closing for the kill.
