Cult of Mithras

Mithraism, also known as the Mythraic mysteries, is a mystery religion centered around the god Mithras that was practiced in the Roman Empire. The religion was inspired by Persian worship of the god Mithra.  The mysteries were popular in the Roman military.

Worshipers of Mithras have a complex system of initiation meeting in underground temples. The cult is centered in Rome.
