Though having a creature like a dragon for a mount certainly has its advantages, it is also likely to make other people, such as city guards, rather nervous and jittery, particularly if the animal is left tied up outside a tavern while its owner is inside drinking. This problem can be mitigated with a muzzle, a leather and steel construction that fits around the jaws of an animal, preventing it from opening its mouth wide enough to bite. Muzzles are made differently for different species, but all accomplish the same purpose. Removing a muzzle is a full-round action, while attaching it to an animal takes two minutes.
