The mumps is a childhood illness that affected people in the Middle Ages more differently than people today. It causes swelling of the salivary glands and/or testicles, and may cause rash, fever, and headache. While it is generally nonlethal, if left untreated it could cause pneumonia or other illness.
If the PC fails the check by more than 5 points, s/he becomes fatigued.
