Dire capybaras are huge, pugnacious, semi-aquatic rodents. They are from 8 to 9 feet long and weigh up to 1,200 pounds.
Unlike normal capybaras, dire capybaras have sharp, protruding tusks in both jaws, making their bites very dangerous. Dire capybaras also have a very thick hide, and hair matted to such a degree that it forms an armor.

Dire capybaras do not eat large creatures, but will attack creatures entering their territory. They are especially aggressive and territorial during mating season.
Skills: A dire capybara has a +8 racial bonus on Swim checks and can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if rushed or threatened.
