Giant Constrictor Snake, (Anaconda) — “The Coiling Dread of the Deep Jungle”
“Beware the Giant Constrictor Snake: a hulking, muscle-wrapped jungle terror that crushes prey with bone-snapping power before dragging it into the depths!”

The Giant Constrictor Snake is a titanic serpent, often exceeding 30 feet in length and weighing over a ton. Its thick, scaly hide bears a mottled pattern of green, black, and brown—perfectly camouflaged in murky jungle or swamp environments. Its unblinking, lidless eyes shine like polished amber, and its jaws can unhinge wide enough to engulf prey whole.
Behavior:
Solitary and silent, the Giant Constrictor Snake is a patient ambush predator. It can lie motionless for hours, blending into its surroundings, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. It prefers stealth over aggression, only becoming violent when hungry or provoked.
Habitat:
Native to dense tropical rainforests, warm wetlands, and underground rivers, Giant Constrictor Snakes thrive in humid, overgrown areas. They are strong swimmers and often hunt near water sources, where unsuspecting prey comes to drink.
Modus Operandi:
Relying on stealth and sheer physical power, the snake strikes with lightning speed, wrapping its coils around victims to crush bones and suffocate. Once the prey is immobilized or dead, it is slowly swallowed whole. The snake then retreats to a safe place to digest over several days.
Motivation:
Driven purely by hunger and instinct, the Giant Constrictor Snake is not evil but operates with a cold, reptilian logic. It seeks only to feed and survive, though larger or more intelligent variants may be manipulated or even worshipped by primitive tribes or dark druids.

Traits
Keen Smell.
The snake has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Silent Coils.
The snake has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks when in water or dense underbrush. While motionless, it is indistinguishable from a fallen tree or thick root system (DC 15 Intelligence (Nature) check to recognize it as a threat).
Constrictor’s Patience.
If the snake remains motionless for at least 1 minute, the first attack it makes against a surprised creature is made with advantage and deals an additional 1d8 bludgeoning damage.
Actions
Multiattack.
The snake makes two attacks: one with its Bite and one with Constrict.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
Hit: 18 (2d10 + 5) piercing damage.
Constrict. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one Large or smaller creature.
Hit: 13 (2d6 + 5) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 16). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the snake can’t constrict another target.
Swallow Whole (Recharge 5–6).
The snake attempts to swallow a Medium or smaller creature it has restrained. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be swallowed. A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained and has total cover from effects outside the snake.
It takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the snake’s turns.
If the snake takes 25 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, it must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate the swallowed creature, which falls prone in a space within 10 feet of the snake. If the snake dies, all swallowed creatures are released immediately, prone in spaces within 10 feet of it.
Tactics
- Ambush Predator: The snake prefers to strike from concealment, using its camouflage and terrain. It hides near water or underbrush, attacking with surprise if possible.
- Coil and Isolate: It targets vulnerable or isolated prey first, grappling with Constrict and dragging them away if possible.
- Swallow in Desperation: When bloodied or surrounded, it uses Swallow Whole on its restrained prey to eliminate a threat quickly.
- Retreat if Overwhelmed: If reduced to fewer than 30 hit points and not currently restraining a creature, the snake will attempt to disengage and flee to cover or water.
Giant Constrictor Snake

Giant constrictor snakes are more aggressive than their smaller cousins, principally because they need a great amount of food to survive.
