This reptilian beast’s massive head sports a pair of horns above the eyes, with a smaller one on the nose, and a shield-shaped frill that makes up half of the head’s length.

Torosaurus is a slightly smaller, and less common, cousin of the triceratops. Its name does not mean ‘bull lizard,’ as many believe; it actually means ‘perforated lizard’ and refers to the window-like openings in the bones of its enormous frill. However, ‘bull lizard’ is still quite an appropriate name for this beast, as torosaurs are large, ornery, and prone to charging at the slightest provocation.

A torosaurus is about 15 feet long and weighs 4½ to 6½ tons.
