Giganotosaurus was a massive carnivorous dinosaur that roamed the Earth during the Late Cretaceous period, around 99 to 97 million years ago. It was one of the largest theropods ever to have lived, measuring up to 13 meters (43 feet) in length and weighing up to 8.2 metric tons (18,000 pounds). It had a long, slender, and muscular body, with a narrow skull and sharp, serrated teeth designed for slicing through flesh. Its powerful legs and large, curved claws helped it hunt and take down prey.

Giganotosaurus had a distinctive appearance, with a long, narrow head, forward-facing eyes, and a mouth full of sharp teeth. Its teeth were serrated, which made them ideal for tearing flesh and crushing bones. Its body was covered in rough, scaly skin, with a long, powerful tail used for balance and communication. It had two short arms with three-fingered hands, each with sharp claws used for grasping and tearing.

As a fierce predator, Giganotosaurus was a dominant force in the ecosystem of the time. It hunted a variety of prey, including sauropods, stegosaurs, and other large herbivores. Its powerful jaws and sharp teeth allowed it to take down prey much larger than itself, and its strong legs and large claws helped it to immobilize and kill its victims.

Despite its impressive size and strength, Giganotosaurus was not invincible. It had to contend with other large predators of the time, such as the similarly sized and fearsome Carcharodontosaurus, as well as other dangers such as disease and injury. Nevertheless, Giganotosaurus was an awe-inspiring creature, one of the most impressive and fearsome animals to have ever roamed the Earth.

Abilities

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the giganotosaurus’ choice within 30 feet of it and aware of it must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the giganotosaurus’ Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Keen Smell. The giganotosaurus has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.

Physical Description

The giganotosaurus is a massive carnivorous dinosaur, larger than the well-known T-Rex. Its sleek, muscular body is covered in dark green scales with black stripes running down its back. Its long tail ends in a sharp bony club, and its powerful jaws are lined with rows of razor-sharp teeth. Its eyes are small but fierce, and its sense of smell is incredibly keen. Standing over 40 feet long and weighing up to 15 tons, the giganotosaurus is a truly formidable predator.
