Class Features

All of the following are class features of the comedian prestige class.

Weapons and Armor Proficiency: Comedians gain no additional proficiency with any weapons or armor.

Amusing Antics: The comedian’s comedy is infectious. Her comedian levels stack with bard levels for attaining and determining daily uses of Fascinate, Heckle (Countersong), suggestion, and Mass suggestion when Performed with ranks in Perform (Comedy). Comedian levels do not stack with bard levels for Bardic Knowledge checks or other forms of Bardic Music. These are spell-like abilities.

Spellcasting [1st/3rd/5th level]: At the indicated levels, the comedian gains spellcasting ability as if she had attained another level of bard.

Ribaldry [2nd level]: She knows some knee-slapping jokes. A 2nd-level comedian with at least 10 ranks in Perform (Comedy) can utilize a daily use of Bardic Music to effect hideous laughter on any creature that can hear her, as the spell cast by a bard of her caster level (DC 10 + comedian level + Charisma modifier). This is a spell-like ability.

Evasion [3rd level]: She can avoid certain magical and unusual attacks. If the comedian makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half-damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the comedian is in light or no armor and not helpless. This is an extraordinary ability.

Funnyboned [4th level]: The comedian can Perform a comedic routine at the drop of a hat despite distraction. She can Take 10 on Perform (Comedy) and Tumble checks as a standard action under any circumstances. This is extraordinary.

Silly [5th level]: She is exceptionally amusing. The comedian receives a +1 inherent bonus to both Charisma and Dexterity.

Uncanny Dodge [5th level]: She is nimble in combat. The comedian retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, she still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized. If the comedian already has Uncanny Dodge from a different class, she automatically gains Improved Uncanny Dodge instead, becoming immune to flanking.

CLOWN KIT [Goods and Services: Tools and Skill Kits]

A clown kit contains the basic tools of the clown trade. Most clown kits include a week’s supply of greasepaint, used to paint the clown’s face, and three to four small novelty items, tricks, and gadgets, such as a small red ball that attaches to the tip of the nose, a cluster of small bells or a small horn, a tiny hat on a chin strap (often resembling a small bird or potted flower), a harmless hand buzzer, or an artificial flower, medallion, or brooch that squirts water.
